Come join us at 'Camp Francie' where the marshmallows are as big as your head, where we aren't ever short on energy, and the housing provided comes in the form of the prettiest tee pees fit for the little men (or girls) in your life.
'Camp Francie' welcomes everyone with open arms but we decided to focus on just the boys this time and ways for you to get them outside this summer. If you haven't noticed yet boys, at least my boys, are extra active. I think that the best thing for their tiny bodies full of energy is to get them outside. We like to TRY and start our day outside by eating breakfast on our patio; I have found that this helps them start the day with a calm more understanding mindset. Now this doesn't happen every morning, although I wish it could, but sometimes we have previous plans that I have to prepare for, so guess what I resort to? My good old trusy babysitter Mr. TV. I am not saying I am against kids watching TV, but I have noticed a HUGE difference in how my kids act if we start the day by with it. They really seem more needy and whiny, maybe it's just my kids but you should try it with your kids and let me know what you find out. Another way we try to get outside it by frog or snail hunting. We have so many of these little creatures roaming our yard that we often times just go out and try and find them. You can even turn it into a teaching activity by drawing a map and 'X's" the spots the animals were found or for younger ages turn it into a counting or matching game. Another way to get outside is by finding some water! It can be a river, a pool, a pond, a lake or even as simple as a hose or a puddle; I have been taking my boys to lakes this summer and there is something there they have both found they enjoy; Boone prefers paddle boarding and Cooper prefers catching guppies. If you really think about it there are so many fun things to do in summer that are perfect for boys you could go rock hunting for both collecting and for climbing, small hikes, planting flowers- boys sure do like dirt, and just reading a book under a tree or even better in a Francie and Co. teepee with some friends.
Who wouldn't want to sign up for Camp Francie? I know i would. Luckily I already got a little taste of it through the most amazing collaboration with the the most wonderful and down to earth ladies: Michelle Petersen from The Mumsy Blog, Kallie Cooper From KCFilmandPhoto, and Nicole Rees owner of Francie and Co.
