You shoot up in a state of panic worried that something is wrong with your sweet helpless little baby, not to mention your engorged boobs are telling you 'it's way past eating time where is that little milk monster?" You quickly and quietly sneak over to the bassinet and ever so lightly put your hand on their chest to feel that up and down movement of each breath-awe all is right again back to bed...or so you thought. For me the state of panic usually ends up with waking up the baby or a mind that doesn't want to stop racing and before I know it I'm planning for doomsday. You can't tell me it hasn't happened to you ;) Well I found a solution to my worries: The Owlet Smart Sock 2.
The Owlet is an awesome gadget that helps track your babies oxygen levels and heart rate. It will notify you with an alarm type sound when these levels fall outside the preset zones. It is connected to your phone but also has a base station that both sound when there seems to be a problem with either your babies levels or sock placement. I love that when the owlet notifies you there are two different sounds for these: an alarm and music so you know what to expect when going into the situation. I also love that the base station plays the sound as well as your phone because sometimes I turn off the sound to my phone to help me stay 'distraction free' at nights with my family and forget to turn it on. The sock used to help track the heart rate and oxygen levels can fit on either of your babies feet comfortably and safely so you can get that peace of mind you need for a more restful nights sleep
When Boone was six months old we had a huge sleeping scare that landed us in Primary Children's hospital. We left the hospital with really no answers to why he stopped breathing during his nap, I just knew that I had aged 10 years and then another 10 with all the sleepless nights afterward. I wanted to carry all the machines that he was hooked up to home with me but I just knew that wasn't realistic. Time passed, Boone grew but the worry was still there. I knew I needed to invest in something that would help calm my mind with the arrival of Grizz. I can truly say that the Owlet Smart Sock 2 has given me so many anxiety free nights and a peace of mind.
